Character's name: Steve Rogers
Character's codename: Captain America
Character's age: Difficult to say. Was born July 4, 1920, was frozen on or around April 18, 1945, and was unfrozen in 1970. So, chronologically he is 89, though he has only actually experienced 54 of these years. Added to this, the Super-Soldier serum has slowed his aging process, giving him the look of a man in his early 40s.
PB: Aaron Eckhart
Power/Ability: (marvel wiki)- The Super-Soldier Serum metabolized and enhanced all of Rogers' bodily functions to the peak of human potential.

Rogers has no superhuman powers, although as a result of the Super-Soldier serum, he was transformed from a frail young man into a "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning. Rogers is as intelligent, strong, fast, agile, and durable as it is possible for a human being to be without being considered superhuman.

He can run at speeds of up to approximately 30 miles per hour, and has on an occasion run a mile in little over a minute (almost 60 mph) when under duress.
His body eliminates the excessive build-up of fatigue-producing poisons in his muscles, granting him phenomenal endurance. He can exert himself at peak capacity for an hour without rest before showing any signs of fatigue.

Rogers' agility and reflexes are superior to that of an Olympic athlete.
He has the ability to withstand injury that is superior to those of ordinary humans.

His enhanced metabolism allows him to heal from injury or disease faster than humans. He subject to all human vulnerabilities, although is nearly to diseases, toxins, or even alcohol poisoning. He claims he can't get drunk and has never been sick after receiving the SSS.

His mental performance has been greatly enhanced, allowing his mind to operate in the most efficient and rapid manner possible. His reaction time similarly rivals that of any normal human being.

Having trained with such luminaries as William Essart Fairbairn and Rex Applegate, Captain America has mastered multiple martial arts including American-style boxing, Okinawa-te, jujitsu, aikido, judo, and various others which he either portrays skill or knowledge in (two of them being pressure point fighting and taijiquan) and combined these disciplines with his acrobatic talents to create his own unique hand-to-hand style of combat.

Hiss years of training and experience with his unique shield, as well as its physical properties, allow him to accomplish mind-boggling feats with the item. Aside from bashing foes with it and blocking incoming attacks, he is able to throw the shield with nearly perfect aim. He is able to hit multiple targets with the same throw by means of ricochet, and can even achieve a boomerang-like return effect with it, allowing him to strike enemies from behind or retrieve the shield without objects to ricochet from.

Affiliation: Avengers
History: Steve was born July 4, 1920, to poor Irish immigrant parents, Sarah and Joseph Rogers during the depression. His father died when he was still quite young, and his mother died when he was in his late teens.

A frail young man, and just finishing his first year in a bachelor of fine arts, Steve was moved to enlist after seeing news reel footage of Nazis ransacking Europe. He was turned away for physic and poor health, but General Chester Phillips of the US Army offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a top-secret performance-enhancing experiment called Operation Rebirth.

After weeks of tests, Steve was administered the Super-Soldier Serum, and then bombarded by vita-rays. He emerged from the vita-ray chamber with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. A Nazi spy who observed the experiment murdered Erskine mere minutes after its conclusion. Erskine died without fully committing the Super-Soldier formula to paper, leaving Steve the sole beneficiary of his genius.

He was trained and outfitted to be a symbol of America and all it stood for, and within three months was set on his first mission, taking on what would become his long term foe, Red Skull.

He soon gained a friend in Bucky, and the young man, upon discovering his secret, was quick to join his side. The pair fought in WWII, but would not see the end, being thrown into icy waters during mission, remaining in suspended animation for 25 years.

When he was rediscovered in 1970, Steve returned to his work as Captain America, believing his young side kick to be dead, and joining with the Avengers, who had pulled his thawing body from the waters. As a born leader, Steve would come to be seen as the heart and soul of the team, and his commands while in the field were often looked to, regardless of who might have been chairman at the time. Rogers would teach teamwork, tactics, and hand-to-hand combat to many later Avengers.

Character Location: New York City
Character Physical Description: Tall, and the ultimate in all round physical fitness, Steve is both strong and agile. He has an all American, chiseled face, with steely blue eyes and a steady smile. His eyes have the hardened look of someone who has seen the trials of war, and his hair is a sandy blond.
Character Personality: Steve is very much a man from a different time. Born during the depression, and serving in the war, he has an idealism and hardiness to him that those of this generation can't quite grasp. He has an undying faith in the world, and is determined to do what is right. He's not particularly self confident, cocky about his abilities, he simply sees it as his duty to do whatever he can to keep the world save.

He takes particular pleasure in assisting those who can't fight for themselves, looking out for the underdog, and he's not afraid to go against popular opinion to fight for what he thinks is right. He still sees himself as the scrawny young kid who couldn't get into the army. Even then, full of idealism, he would have done anything to help his country.

In private, Steve comes across as a friendly, run of the mill guy, with that odd hint of something being off about him, as though he didn't quite belong in this time. He's athletic, and artistic, enjoying the simple things in life.
